Governor Selimović at the Meeting with the World Bank Senior Officials 10/31/2024 Tweet During her visit to Washington, the Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), Jasmina Selimović,Ph.D. had meetings with senior World Bank officials, including Antonella Bassani, Vice President for the Europe and Central Asia Region, and Eugene Rhuggenaath, Executive Director at the World Bank. The discussions were focused on current macroeconomic developments and expectations for the period ahead, with particular emphasis on preserving monetary stability. Governor Selimović emphasized the key role of the Central Bank of BH in stabilising the economy and presented the activities and plans for strengthening the country's financial system in the years to come. One of the most important meetings was that with Jorge Familiar, Treasurer and Vice President of the World Bank, who leads the Reserve Advisory and Management Partnership (RAMP) programme. In April this year, the CBBH has joined the RAMP, officially beginning at the end of September, with the aim of improving the foreign exchange reserve management. Membership in the RAMP provides the CBBH with access to advisory services, employee training and asset management, with the Bank in this way joining the global network of over 70 public institutions. The RAMP also supports sustainable development goals, including high quality education through educational activities of the CBBH staff, economic growth, climate action, strengthening institutions and partnerships. Mr. Familiar expressed his satisfaction with the undertaken activities, and further improvement of activities in the direction of thematic education was also discussed. The Governor thanked the representatives of the World Bank for their cooperation so far, stressing that the technical assistance programmes of this institution have been very useful for the Central Bank of BH in the process of payment systems modernisation and institutional capacities strengthening. These meetings have further strengthened the cooperation between the Central Bank of BH and the World Bank, setting the foundations for future projects that will contribute to the long-term development of the financial sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
