CBBH Marks Global Money Week in Cooperation with Primary Schools

3/24/2025

From March 17 to 21 this year,  the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) actively participated in marking Global Money Week, a global initiative that is being implemented in 176 countries around the world with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of financial education among young people. The campaign is led by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and brings together numerous institutions, financial organizations and educational institutions dedicated to strengthening financial literacy.

As part of marking this important week, the CBBH organized a series of educational activities in cooperation with primary schools across Bosnia and Herzegovina. This year, through various programs, workshops and lectures, around 600 students were involved, who had the opportunity to acquire basic knowledge about savings, responsible money management and the importance of financial planning in an interactive and interesting way. Through dynamic games and educational content, students developed the skills necessary for making responsible financial decisions.

In addition to working with students, the CBBH also implemented a series of promotional activities this week with the aim of informing the general public about the importance of financial literacy for the economic development of society.

"World Money Week allows us to introduce the basic concepts of financial management through interactive and customized activities and encourage young people to develop responsible financial habits from an early age," the CBBH representatives said.

In the coming period, the CBBH will continue with activities aimed at improving financial literacy, through various programs and initiatives that will enable citizens, especially young people, to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to make responsible financial decisions. In addition, the Bank remains committed to strengthening cooperation with educational institutions, domestic and international partners in order to ensure the long-term sustainability of financial education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

By marking World Money Week, the CBBH confirms its commitment to improving financial education and empowering citizens to responsibly manage their finances, thereby contributing to the stability and prosperity of society as a whole.
